# AlgolaneBots > AlgolaneBots is software that runs five rule-based trading bots. Customers test them on a $10,000 paper account (pretend money, real prices) free for 90 days with no card, then can connect their own Alpaca, Interactive Brokers, Tradier, tastytrade or TradeStation account (US stocks and ETFs) or any MetaTrader 5 broker (gold). AlgolaneBots can place trades but can never move or withdraw money, and it holds no customer funds. It is not a broker or an investment adviser. Subscription: $29 a month after the trial. ## Strategies - [Gold Breakout](https://algolanebots.com/strategies/gold-squeeze): Trades gold when a quiet period ends in a breakout. Historical backtest from 2004: 22.1% a year (worst fall 55%) vs 11.0% a year for holding Gold (worst fall 45%). Simulated, not real trading. Caveat: Doubling trading costs cuts its yearly result roughly in half. - [Leveraged Growth](https://algolanebots.com/strategies/growth-v4-sleeve): Rotates between leveraged growth funds, volatility funds and bonds. Historical backtest from 2011: 129.1% a year (worst fall 53%) vs 13.9% a year for holding S&P 500 (SPY) (worst fall 34%). Simulated, not real trading. Caveat: Its rules may be fitted to the years after 2010, and leveraged funds can lose value quickly. - [Market Switch](https://algolanebots.com/strategies/single-popped): Holds one fund at a time, and switches when the market looks stretched. Historical backtest from 2011: 71.9% a year (worst fall 42%) vs 15.0% a year for holding S&P 500 (SPY) (worst fall 34%). Simulated, not real trading. Caveat: Nearly half of its tested profit came from UVXY, and it failed outside the US. - [Big Tech Trend](https://algolanebots.com/strategies/bigtech-throttle): Holds technology leaders in good markets and steps aside in bad ones. Historical backtest from 2011: 37.3% a year (worst fall 29%) vs 14.0% a year for holding S&P 500 (SPY) (worst fall 34%). Simulated, not real trading. Caveat: The stock list was chosen with hindsight. Three stocks made 81% of the profit. - [Steady Growth](https://algolanebots.com/strategies/consistent-growth): Rebalances a short list of steady growers every week. Historical backtest from 2011: 26.5% a year (worst fall 20%) vs 14.0% a year for holding S&P 500 (SPY) (worst fall 34%). Simulated, not real trading. Caveat: These seven names were picked because they already did well, which flatters the test. ## Key pages - [How we test](https://algolanebots.com/how-we-test): backtest periods, benchmarks, crash tests and known biases - [Supported brokers](https://algolanebots.com/brokers): Alpaca (sign-in with trade-only access), Interactive Brokers, Tradier, tastytrade and TradeStation (through the AlgolaneBots Connector desktop app, which keeps the customer's API key on their own computer), and MetaTrader 5 for gold - [Pricing and free trial](https://algolanebots.com/#pricing) - [Risk disclosure](https://algolanebots.com/legal/risk) ## Guides - [100x Stocks: The Odds, the Maths and the Traps](https://algolanebots.com/blog/100x-stocks): 100x stocks are extremely rare and usually take decades.
