Alpaca setup, in short

  1. Open an Alpaca account. Paper trading works straight away; live trading needs Alpaca's approval and funding.
  2. In AlgolaneBots, choose Connect Alpaca and sign in on Alpaca's own page. Click Allow to grant trade-only access.
  3. Pick one of the four US strategies and set the most it may use.
  4. Orders are sent before 9:28am New York time and fill in the opening auction.

MetaTrader 5 setup, in short

  1. Open a demo account with any broker that offers MetaTrader 5 and gold (XAUUSD).
  2. Copy the AlgolaneBots Expert Advisor into MQL5 › Experts and refresh the Navigator.
  3. In Tools › Options › Expert Advisors, allow algorithmic trading and web requests to algolanebots.com.
  4. Attach the advisor to a gold chart, paste your token and switch on Algo Trading.

Interactive Brokers, Tradier, tastytrade or TradeStation, in short

  1. Download the AlgolaneBots Connector app for Windows and pick your broker.
  2. Sign in from the app and choose paper or real money, a US strategy and a spending limit.
  3. Paste your broker's personal API key into the app (for IBKR, keep IB Gateway running). It stays on your computer.
  4. Leave the app in the tray. It places the day's orders before the open by itself.

Live Alpaca trading is for US residents. Tradier, tastytrade and TradeStation decide who may open an account with them. The MetaTrader 5 route isn't offered in India, the US or sanctioned countries. Paper trading works for every strategy everywhere.
