You can lose money

Trading involves a real risk of loss. You can lose some or all of the money you trade with. With margin or leverage, you can lose more than you put in. Only trade money you can afford to lose.

Simulated results have limits

The charts show what a set of rules would have done on past prices. They were made after the fact and no real money was at risk.

Simulations can leave out costs, slippage, and the difficulty of trading large amounts. They can flatter a strategy through hindsight, for example by using a stock list chosen after those stocks had already done well, or by tuning rules until they fit the past.

Real results will differ, and may be much worse. No one can promise that any account will reach results like these.

Paper trading has limits

Paper accounts use pretend money. They do not face real fills, real costs, or the stress of real losses. Good paper results do not predict good real results, and 90 days is still a short test.

Leveraged and inverse funds

Funds such as TQQQ, SQQQ, SOXL and UVXY are built for short-term trading. Their daily reset means they can lose value over time even if the market ends up where it started. UVXY has lost most of its value over long periods. These funds can fall sharply in one day.

Gold and CFDs

Gold on MetaTrader 5 usually trades as a leveraged CFD. Most retail CFD accounts lose money. Prices can gap past a stop-loss, so a loss can be larger than planned. CFDs are not allowed in every country.

Automation can fail

Software, internet connections, data feeds, brokers and exchanges can all fail. Orders can be late, missed, or duplicated. Check your broker account regularly.

Worst cases can be worse

Each strategy page shows the worst fall found in testing. A future loss can be larger than anything in the tests.
